Your email, your work in whichever programs you use, and your conversations with the clerk. That is all that is kept for most people. None of it is sold, and none of it is used for advertising.
If you drive or work through ListClerk, considerably more is kept, and the ListClerk section below says exactly what.

No tracking pixels. No advertising identifiers. No third-party analytics.
Card numbers. Payment goes straight to Stripe and never touches our servers.
chessclerk.com, listclerk.com, clerksuite.com and the rest are one application at several addresses. Your account, your balance and your history are the same everywhere.
Your work is not. Each program's posts and history are stored separately, so a conversation in ListClerk is not visible in ChessClerk and vice versa.
ListClerk moves money between strangers and sends people to each other's homes and job sites. That takes information the rest of the suite has no reason to hold.
When you open a deal, you, the other side and the clerk are in one room. What you write there is read by the other parties, not only by us. The transcript is kept for as long as the deal could be disputed, because when one person says the food never came and the other says it did, the transcript with times on it is the only thing worth anything.
Some things the clerk tells you are yours alone and never enter the shared transcript — your driver standing, your day-before checklist, your billing tier.
Three background checks are run before you carry anything: the national sex offender registry, your motor vehicle record and a county criminal search. The result of each is kept — clear or not clear, and when it was run. Your driving record is re-checked periodically for as long as you drive, because a check from three months ago is a claim about three months ago.
While you are on a job, your phone records your position, your speed, and driving events — hard braking, cornering, phone handling, position at lights. This is how the 200-delivery gate onto rideshare works. It is measured while you are working and not otherwise.
A rider is never shown any of it. What a rider sees is four lines: registry clear, driving record clear, county criminal clear, and how many supervised deliveries you have completed. No incidents, no detail, no location history.
A taxpayer identification number is required before you can be paid, because we issue a 1099-NEC at $600 in a year. It is used for that and nothing else.
Your day-before checklist is yours. It is stored under your own account, it is never shown to the person who hired you, and there is no query anywhere in the system that would let them see it.
Interviews are not recorded. Nothing is stored from the video, by us or by anyone. If either of you declines, no reason is asked for and none is kept — there is no field for one.
Every state a deal passes through is written down with a time and who caused it. That record is what a dispute is decided on, and it is kept for as long as a chargeback is possible.
Clerk Suite runs on other people's infrastructure, and those companies handle data on our behalf:
Your data is not sold, rented or traded. Ever. It would be disclosed if the law required it.
Chess analysis that survives an engine check may be added to the public library. Positions, evaluations and plans go in. Nothing identifying goes with them.
The library has no authors, and this is structural rather than a promise: there is no field recording who contributed a line, so there is nothing to leak, subpoena or accidentally publish. Provenance is not hidden. It does not exist.
This is chess only. Nothing from any other program in the suite enters any shared anything.

Deletion is real deletion. Two things survive it. Chess lines already in the public library stay, because they have no name attached and cannot be traced back to you — including by us. And a closed ListClerk deal's record stays for its retention period, because it is also the other person's record of a transaction and is not yours alone to erase.
Most of Clerk Suite is for anyone, at any age. There is no minimum for chess, words, bridge, arithmetic or the games.
Playing chess needs no account at all — the board, the clock and the engine run in your own browser and collect nothing. A child can use all of it without signing up for anything or giving us a thing.
An account is only needed to talk to the clerk, and an account means an email address and stored conversations. For a child under 13, a parent or guardian should be the one to create it and should stay aware of it. If you are a parent and want an account and its data removed, ask the clerk and it will be done.
ListClerk is 18 and over, and nothing in it is available to an account we know belongs to a minor.
Sign-in is handled by Firebase. Payment and escrow are handled by Stripe. Your stored data is scoped to your account by database rules, and the keys that reach the language models live on the server and are never sent to your browser.
No system is perfectly secure. If something is breached that affects you, you will be told.
On servers in the United States. If you use Clerk Suite from elsewhere, your data is processed there.
